*Collecting Coats, Distributing Warmth: One 13-Year-Old's Birthday Wish

*GLEN ROCK, NJ - Jared Fish understands warmth.
Not just because it's winter but more because he believes it's “important to help other people who need it.”
So, he's conducting a coat drive.
And while many people will be looking to toss their winter coats as the months get warmer, Jared is hoping to collect some of those gems for his coat drive.
It's part of his birthday wish, to collect 100 coats for his 13th birthday. He's not just doing it in the upcoming weeks, but in the upcoming months.
His deadline to collect coats is July 31, 2025.
“I'm hoping to collect 100 good-condition coats by then for Jersey Cares,” he said. “So far I've collected 40.”
Why July? It's the month of his 13th birthday.
“As part of my 13th birthday, I'm doing a community service project,” Jared told TAPinto. “This one lets me help people without asking the community to buy something or spend their money.”
Jared's family is taking notice of his philanthropic efforts.
“My parents are proud of me for doing something to help other people and inspiring younger kids,” he said. “Some said that when they are older, they might do a coat drive, too.”
So far, Jared has collected 40 coats. His goal? 100.
The deadline to donate a coat is July 31, 2025.
